What does HVAC repair cost around here?
Most contractors in this area will not talk about pricing until someone is standing in your hallway. We would rather explain how it works before you call.
You pay a diagnostic charge for the visit. That covers the time to actually find the fault (measurements, not a guess) and you get the numbers on paper even if you do not go ahead. Before any repair starts you get a price for that repair, and it does not change once work begins unless we find something else and tell you first.
The variables that actually move the number are the part, the manufacturer warranty status of the system, and the time of day. A normal weekday costs less than two in the morning. Those are worth asking about on the phone, and we will answer on the phone.
Maintenance plan members pay no dispatch fee on a completed repair and get a discount on the work. If you are calling us for the second time in a year, ask if a plan is cheaper than the call.

Yes. Southern Dreams Mechanical is fully licensed and insured in the state of Louisiana. We can provide our license number and a certificate of insurance on request before any work begins.
Do you really answer emergency calls 24/7?
Yes, and Trey answers them personally. You are not routed to a national call center or an answering service. When your system fails at 11pm in July, you reach the owner.
How fast can you get to me?
For emergency calls in Denham Springs and the surrounding parishes we aim for same-day response, and often within a couple of hours. Response time depends on where you are and how busy the day is, and we will give you a realistic window when you call.
Do you charge for estimates?
Estimates on installations and replacements are free. Diagnostic visits for a repair carry a service charge, which we tell you up front. No hidden fees and no surprises on the invoice.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
It depends on the age of the unit, the cost of the repair, and how the system has been performing. As a rule of thumb, if the system is over ten years old and the repair approaches a third of replacement cost, replacement is usually the better value. We will give you an honest recommendation either way.
Do you offer maintenance plans?
Yes. Scheduled maintenance is the cheapest way to avoid an emergency call. Our plans cover seasonal tune-ups and priority scheduling, and they extend the life of your equipment.

How often should my HVAC system be serviced?
